1) Asia Pacific Foundation's "Canadians Living Abroad Survey"The phenomenon of Canadians living abroad has become a hot topic of late, involving a complex range of issues such as dual citizenship, evacuation of Canadians from conflict zones, Canadian identity, transnational networks, and consular services. These issues are being debated with very little input from Canadians living overseas. The Asia Pacific Foundation is conducting a survey aims to gather views from Canadians living overseas to they can be factored into the national discussion on the role of the "Canadian Diaspora".
In the first instance, we are targeting Canadians living in Asia, Australia/New Zealand, and the United States. The survey consists of 18 multiple-choice questions, and will take only 5-6 minutes to complete. The responses to this survey are strictly confidential and will only be used for research purposes at the aggregate level. Feel free also to forward this link to other Canadians living overseas so that their views can be heard, too.
Click HERE to access the Survey.
The deadline for responses to the survey is April 23, 2007.

2) HKCBA in Search of a New Executive Director
We regret to advise that our long-time Executive Director Shebia Leung has decided to consider other career/family options during the coming months. She has been an energetic committed loyal supporter of our association for over 10 years and she will be sorely missed by our membership. On behalf of the Board of Directors we will absolutely miss her knowledge of our organization and tireless work on behalf of the membership. Please join us in wishing Shebia the very best in future endeavours.
We will be setting out to find a replacement for the role and encourage you to let us know of any individuals you think would be able to fill this challenging and interesting position (see our contact information below). Ideal candidate would be capable at community representation at a senior level, experience at growing membership within not-for-profit organizations and a strategic view of the world so he or she can help guide our association through the many changes taking place within trade organizations and networking associations. A person who has had senior to mid level management experience in other organizations would be considered favorably. Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English is preferred. Supervision of staff will be necessary but this aspect of the position is not considered to be a significant requirement.
