Alden is Manning Elliott’s managing partner. He also provides assurance, compliance and client advisory services for both public and private companies.

He is particularly experienced at taking companies public and serves clients in a variety of industry sectors including real estate, technology, hospitality, financial services, natural resources, manufacturing and distribution.

Alden takes a hands-on approach to find innovative answers to complex audit and financial reporting challenges faced by companies seeking to obtain initial public listings. Providing clients with creative solutions to their issues through proactive, personalized service is a priority for him.

Education

Alden obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1987 from the University of British Columbia and his Chartered Accountant designation in 1990. Before joining Manning Elliott, he spent five years at the Vancouver office of a large national CA firm in their assurance and compliance practice area and several years in industry controllership positions.

At Thirstea Beverages Ltd., he increased revenues by 100% in three consecutive years by expanding listed grocery outlets, developing new brands, increasing production efficiency with written HACCP planning, and collaborating with clients for pop-up stores that generated significant incomes per event.

Patricia Ng is a Portfolio Manager and Wealth Advisor at RBC Dominion
Securities Inc. with years of experience working alongside high-net worth
clients. Her career began in 1991 at Capital Markets and has since acquired her
CFP (Certified Financial Planner), FMA (Financial Management Advisor), FCSI
(Fellow of the Canadian Securities), and CIM (Chartered Investment Manager)

Pablo Tseng is an experienced intellectual property (IP) lawyer assisting companies at various stages of maturity in the acquisition, commercialization and enforcement of IP rights. Helen Hong Zhou, CPA, CA, is a strong advocate for trade and investment between Canada and Asia Pacific countries. She has significant international work experience in business, government and academic institutions including, Ernst & Young Ltd, the Canadian Embassy in China, and the University of British Columbia. She demonstrated an expertise in assisting clients in implementing their global strategy with a focus on trade, investment and market entry between China and Canada. 

Helen has superior international business development skills by successfully helping 6 Canadian companies to navigate government resources, attract Chinese investments and expand to the Chinese markets.  In her recent experience at HQ Vancouver, she helped international companies to set up their North American headquarters in BC. Helen is also a CPA, CA with over 5 years of experience in mergers & acquisition, reporting and regulatory requirements for both private and publicly traded companies. Her clients included multinationals and SMEs in technology, advanced manufacturing and life science industries. 

Helen also believes in giving back to society. She enthusiastically promotes diversity and encourages immigrants to adapt to Canadian society.  She previously served on the Canadian Citizenship Committee and is currently a board member for The Laurier Institution, mentor of Sauder Executive Mentorship Program. 

She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Honours and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
